In Canada it's called a Sneaky Snow Plow

How I Met Your Mother: Old King Clancy
Season 4 Episode 18

Who knew that Canadians were such pervs. A great HIMYM episode leads to Ted making ANOTHER life change. I guess in 5 years when I turn 30 I will have some sort of life changing experience that I can start a new chapter in my goal to being a married man. Just like my boy Ted.

Old King Clancy is a re
ference to a sex act that is done in Canada involving who knows what, and maple syrup. The episode references the web site canadiansexacts.org which is currently a site. When you go there it brings up a list of terms for literally what the name of website intends you to see. Once you click on each sex act it brings up a page with Canada's own Alan Thicke in a picture informing you that the site is down in a Canada joke way. Kudos for the producers to take the time and make something this outlandish. And mega props to Thicke for taking 10 minutes out of his BUSY time to get his picture taken in honor of his homeland.

This whole storyline is our main laughter in this episode. Robin has explained she has done one of the sex acts with a Canadian celebrity and was only lured in by wanting to see said celebrities obsecure collection. Robin, in embarassment, will not come out and tell what said things are. Thus leads to Lily getting in a frantic rage to solve the mystery. This leads to numerous Canada jokes. I know that one editor to this site must have especially appreciated a reference to his secret man crush(another secret that only he will reveal).

I never thought that the show could go in a direction of discussing the situation that is currently a problem in our culture, but it is a very slick maneuver on the writers part telling us how stupid upper management is in dealings with money in this economy. I have to admit that I saw Ted's fate with GNB coming. I could see what was to be of his fate with the employee transistion room. This attitude is what leads Ted down the path he is going to take.

Old King Clancy also brought us back to an ultimate theme of the show. At what price do you protect your friends. Obviously in this episode Barney and Marshall take it too far, but in turn all is well and fuzzy pink happy clouds for our New York gang.

Why don't you follow standard capitalization procedures in the article title? Why doesn't your first sentence end in a question mark? Why don't you italicize the show title or write it out the first time you use it in a post? Why don't you write out numbers below 10? Why do you use the word "that" unnecessarily in the second sentence in place of "and" which would make more sense? Why is that entire sentence an unneeded run-on? Why isn't there a comma between boy and Ted? Why aren't there quotation marks around the episode title? Did you mean to say "guess what" instead of "who knows what"? Why do you use the phrase "which is currently a site"? Did you mean a website? Did you think we wouldn't assume that something ending in .com, .gov or .org is a website? Because this is posted on the internet, the audience probably understands the concept of a website. Do you mean "our main source of laughter"? Do you mean "celebrity's" instead of "celebrities" to denote ownership? Why do you say "Robin, in embarrassment" which means no sense, instead of "Robin, who is embarrassed"? Did you mean "This" instead "Thus"? Do you not know that Lily's name has two, not three l's in it? Why don't you discuss the Canada jokes and what you thought of them instead of just mentioning that they exist? Why is your fourth paragraph started with such a confusing run on sentence? Why do you use the phrase "could go in a direction of discussing the situation that is currently a problem in our culture… dealing with money in this economy" instead of "would address a topical issue, like the economy"? Why don't you think the show could/would address topical concerns? Why is that entire paragraph especially confusing at every turn, in substantive need of a re-write? Once again, why isn't the episode title in quotation marks? Why is the third from the last sentence again a question without the proper punctuation? Why isn't there a comma after "Obviously"? Why isn't there a verb or proper comma usage in the phrase "and (there are) fuzzy pink happy clouds for our New York gang"?

I would gladly take constructive criticism just as long as you didn't live in a shroud of anonymity. Thank you for following and reading/listening.

OMG - What about Ted? half this episode was about Ted, for once, and he got a 2-line mention! And about Barney and Marshall lying, what did you think about that?

Also, I know they are slow in Canada, but I still think they spell it Sneaky (check out candaiansexacts.org!) ... misspelling in the title, really!

So, it's like you barely talked about the show or what you thought of it at all ... there shouldn't be spoilers above the jump, but once I click to Read More .... I expect more!

I am also amused by "what was to be of his fate" if I keep saying it over and over again ... will I understand it better?

Anyone get the Clue reference? And notice both girls remained seated all episode, nice play!

Clue reference? What is this Clue reference you speak of?

Clue (boardgame reference) "You have to guess the weapon of the crime, the person who comitted, and where it was"...

I get what you are saying. I am confused why you are so amused about how they are hiding the prego bellies. I think they should of went the married with children and just make them all a dream. But I wouldn't want the HIMYM writers to be accused of stealing.
